Thank you for your coverage of Stefanik's goodbye.
To my knowledge, she has not "officially" resigned yet. I suppose she is waiting for the Senate confirmations -- or non-confirmations, as Trump is pushing for.
I have expressed my interest on social media and by direct email to the NY-21 Democratic County Chairs that I am interested and willing to run in the Special Election. I have supporters, many of whom still have my yard signs, who are willing to snap back into gear and continue the work that we had started.
I have also announced my candidacy for 2026.
I believe it would make the most sense for the Democrats to field the same candidate in the 2024 General Election, the 2025 Special Election, and the 2026 General Election.

I’d contend that the candidate needs to be homegrown — not a carpet-bagger who hires a flashy publicist, but someone more authentic — a proven winner and have a significant base in a relatively more populated part of the district."
I am not a carpet bagger. I do not have a flashy publicist. I am authentic. And having campaigned since February, I now have a significant base throughout the district.
I hope that I will have your support and the support of your readers.
BTW, I am also troubled with your referencing Matt Castelli as a "vanity candidate." You made that statement in an earlier edition. I'm not sure what that means, I can only guess. He was, by far, a better candidate to Stefanik in every way possible. She's off the the UN.........the world stage might be a bridge too far.
We saw that race from the press perspective and the end result ended up being a landslide. That’s not to say Stefanik didn’t also move here to run, but maybe party leaders should try something different for a special?
One who runs more on ego and resume-building vs. a genuine desire to serve. We see it in all walks of life. A vanity publisher, for example, charges the authors to print their books. In the case of a candidate, it could be someone who hires a publicist who sends out rhetoric every day that really isn't that in tune with the realities of the position they hope to win. It's more style over substance. Again, not saying Stefanik doesn't do the same, but we're just trying to offer helpful advice for the next set of candidates.
I'm troubled by the video. I know Wayne. While I respect his religious choice, we have a community here that welcomes those of many faiths; Judiasm, Islam, Hinduism, Baha"I, Wiccan, agnostic and atheist. Perhaps there are some I missed. Don't become the Eagle! There is no room here for a Christian biased newspaper. Unless you're willing to post a video from each faith mentioned here, I'd suggest you remove this video. I appreciate your monumental efforts to keep the Greenwich Journal alive along with the new Salem paper, but this is disturbing.
I just read Sara Idleman's remarks and my video is about my personal belief as an American that we need to focus on love and show friendship to EVERYONE to help heal the division and anger that exists. I apologize to Sara and to others if you find this video offensive. The emphasis is on ONLY love and friendship.

You did a commend job and hopefully not only the support of the readers but also the $$$ people this time.

But what do you mean by vanity candidate?

We’re just trying to give space to all of our readers. It’s like a Letter to the Editor, but in video form.
Then perhaps you can present points of view from other belief systems as you do with LTEs.
Sure. Any subscriber can send something in.
