The Longest Day/Paint the Town Purple, the annual effort led by Greenwich’s Breanna and Reid Lundy for Alzheimer’s Awareness, is underway. Check out this ad for details.

The Lundys are also looking for business sponsorships. Breanna writes:

We are on a mission to end Alzheimer's Disease! We watched 3 of our grandmothers suffer from it and we understand what the 7 Million Americans and their families are going through on their journey with Alzheimer's Disease today. 

We've been donating to the Alzheimer's Association for years but we wanted to do something more... something our grandmothers would be proud of, so we chose "The Longest Day" of the year and have been "Painting the Town Purple" for 6 years now in June.

Teamwork matters and we've been so proud of the Greenwich businesses who have jumped on board to make a difference with us to raise awareness and fundraise over the years!

I planned to reach out to you sooner but our lives changed on April 12th when we unexpectedly welcomed our baby boy; Reece 9 weeks early and spent 5 weeks in the NICU with him! Since I can’t see you personally right now, I’m asking for your help from home (with Reece in my arms as I type this).

We have 11 Greenwich businesses committed to joining the cause and we are hoping for 30 businesses like previous years!

For example; Wallie's sells a purple cocktail and all proceeds are donated, retail businesses donate a percentage of their sales from the week of the longest day, Fort Miller donates a certain dollar amount for each employee who wears purple on the longest day and Anytime Fitness has hosted classes with registration fees being donated. The ways to join us are endless and we encourage you to be creative or do something simple that works best for your business. 

If you choose to donate, we are matching all donations made by midnight on June 20th (the longest day of the year).
